Australian fans of R&B, Hip-Hop and Soul music will be extremely disappointed today, as Soulfest organisers announce on Wednesday 14th of October that their second year festival will be cancelled only 2 weeks before the event set to take place in cities across Australia.
The Soulfest promoter’s issued a statement that states “It is with a heavy heart and great regret that Soulfest International advises that it has become necessary to cancel Soulfest and the subsequent sideshows, due to poor ticket sales.”
Organisers say that online/phone tickets will be automatically refunded within 14 days, while people who made bookings at ticketing outlets must return their tickets for a refund.
Many punters are expressing anger due to non refundable accomodation and flight bookings that have been booked to attend the event.
After last years major sound issues this is a huge blow to the festival’s reputation amongst the Australian public, who were willing to invest support for a second year running. Soulfest website states that their are some “Sold out” shows, despite their later statement of diminshed ticket sales.
