There are  some great music festivals around Australia but we have included the festivals that we think are the best festivals for Soul, Funk and Jazz genres. While the below festivals don’t showcase these genres solely, they do give ample stage time to Soul, Funk and Jazz genres.

The Melbourne International Jazz Festival is an annual, world-class jazz festival first held in 1998.

The Festival takes place in concert halls, arts venues, jazz clubs and throughout the streets of Melbourne as the city comes alive with the spirit of jazz.


The Caloundra Music Festival

The Falls Music and Arts Festival (Byron Bay)

Falls Music & Arts Festival is a multi-day music festival held annually in Lorne, Marion Bay, Yelgun and Fremantle, Australia over the New Year’s Eve and January period. The festival hosts contemporary music performances, dance, comedy, theatre, circus, cabaret, and other art forms.


Woodford Folk Festival

The Woodford Folk Festival is held annually over six days and six nights, from Dec 27th through to January 1st. More than 2,000 local, national and international, artists, musicians and presenters put on over 438 acts to an audience of an estimated 132,000 people.


Wangaratta Jazz & Blues Festival

Conceived by a group of locals in 1989 as a way to attract visitors and raise the profile of the town, the first Wangaratta Festival of Jazz (as it was then known) was staged in 1990, with attendances at around 2500.

Glasgow Jazz Festival (UK)

From the very beginning, the Glasgow International Jazz Festival brought some of the biggest names of jazz to the City – 1987’s programme included singer Sarah Vaughan, Chick Corea etc etc. Happens in Mid june


Mostly Jazz Funk & Soul Festival (UK)

Jazz in the Gardens (USA)
